Trooper's own blog

The one-eyed-hound himself is featured heavily in my new blog.

Northumberland360.com
is a photographic diary where the images tell the story of the Northumberland landscapes that me and Trooper walk through everyday.

We're a lucky pair to be out and about for a couple of hours everyday. Neither of us minds the bad weather which is just as well on some days.

Some dogs are great to photograph in the studio but sometimes it's best to capture them in the great outdoors: Some dogs just belong there.

Here's a few from this morning when we were sheltering from the North wind in the dunes together...

Northumberland Dogs

Benjie and Kookie joined me in the studio for my first one-eyed-hound session in my new Northumberland studio.

These 2 were a pleasure to photograph. They soon settled into the studio and started posing for me.
Thanks to Anne for bringing them along.

Angus

This big guy wasn't for lying down and posing - so fit and healthy and so much energy it was a challenging but hugely enjoyable session. Sharyn and Normans' wedding is in a couple of weeks and will be a more relaxing photographic experience - variety is the spice of life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Samson & Rowley

More winners from the GAL dog show.

Wonderful dogs, so full of character. Rowley a big gentle grey greyhound and Samson a lively old boy.

Always a pleasure to photograph hounds...have I mentioned they're my favourite???

Thanks to Jennifer for bringing the boys through today.

Bella the Lurcher

Bella won the Best Juvenile at the GAL show and what a beauty she is.

Full of life and fun, big pups like Bella are a challenge to photograph as they don't sit still for long but with a bit of patience I can get some great shots.

Bella wasn't shy of displaying her fantastic personality.

Thanks to Linda for bringing Bella along to the studio.

Hal and Sam

My first Crufts qualifier (Sam the whippet) and The GAL dog show "Best In Show" winner (Hal the lurcher).

What a handsome pair (they won "Best Family" at the GAL show too).

These shots were taken at Polkemmet country park in Central Scotland one misty morning this
week. It was a lovely atmosphere and light for the photos and the boys had a great time running off the lead. They're such beautiful movers that it's a pleasure just to stand and watch.

Hopefully I got some nice shots of them too when they slowed down!

Thanks to Martha for bringing them all the way from Ayrshire and Good Luck at Crufts!!

Summer - Best In Show

Summer the Greyhound won Best in Show at GAL's recent event and won a free one-eyed-hound.com session. As soon as she arrived I could see why - she's a wee cracker and such a lovely nature.

It took a while to win her trust but she soon adapted to the studio lights and started posing like a supermodel!

Congratulations to Tanya & Colin for the prize and for looking after such a belightful wee hound so well.

Boston, Lita and Denver

Three Beautiful big Greyhounds came into my studio this morning.

All great posers and very cooperative once the snacks appeared!

Thanks to Jason and Susan for bringing them along.

Welcome

I've decided to create this blog to share the comings and goings of the one-eyed-hound crowd. I hope you enjoy it.

We'll start with a few of my favourites of my own best buddy Trooper.

He's the original one-eyed-hound (after an accident 3 years ago) and is a loveable Lurcher who was rescued 5 years ago by us from GAL - The Greyhound Awareness League. GAL are Glasgow based and do great work in helping ex racing greyhounds and all sighthounds needing care and love.

One-eyed-hound.com is the dog photography brand for andy craig photography. I offer doggy portraits either in the studio or out in the open. It depends on the personality of the dog (and on the individual taste of the owner) which is the best for you.
